The moon has always been adorned with tales of beauty and wonder in south asian culture. Therefore, encountering the moon artifact may spark disappointment. However, beneath the letdown, lies deeper meanings of the moon that persist its role in festivals, art, romance and culture.
One of the cultural aspects involves poetry, particularly some graceful verses written by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, a distinguished poet from Pakistan who often used lunar imagery in his poetry.Inspired from his poem “Zindan Ki Ek Sham” which he wrote in the shadows of prison, this moon is crafted by using foil, surrounded with lights and accompanied with poetry. This moon embodies hope, strength and love, it is a luminous reminder that even in despair beauty and resilience can blossom.
